FAQ About my Cat Sitting Services

Find answers to your Cat Sitting questions
What are the prices for your cat sitting services in Helensburgh?

My price for one visit to your cat is £11, which is multiplied by the number of visits per day you select - while I used to offer different prices for single visit days and double visit days, this keeps things simple for booking and evens out the cost. If you are outside my immediate area, travel charges are broken down on the Services page. For an accurate quote tailored to your needs, please reach out for a customised estimate.

How does the cat sitting process work?

Once you contact me with an enquiry, we'll arrange a complimentary Meet and Greet visit so that I can get to know you and your cat. After discussing your requirements, I’ll schedule visits tailored to your cat’s needs, ensuring they receive personalised care while you're away.

What happens if there is an emergency while I'm away?

Client safety is a top priority. In case of an emergency, I will follow your pre-arranged instructions, which you’ll provide during the meet-and-greet. I will contact your designated vet, take your cat to them if necessary, and inform you immediately.

Are you insured for pet care services?

Yes, I am fully insured and very experienced.

Do you provide daily updates while I'm away?

Absolutely! I understand how important it is for you to stay connected with your pet, and I know how reassuring it can be to see how they are getting on. I will send daily messages and pictures to keep you updated on your cat’s well-being.

What is your cancellation policy for cat sitting bookings?

I appreciate early notice for cancellations. Cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance incur no charge. Unfortunately, last-minute cancellations may result in a nominal fee, so please let me know as soon as possible.

Can you accommodate special needs or medical conditions for my cat?

Yes! I am happy to care for cats with special needs or medical conditions. Please inform me during the initial consultation, and I’ll ensure that their specific requirements are met with care and attention. I have experience with diabetic cats requiring insulin injections as well as a wide range of pills and liquid medicines, and have cared for cats after major operations, blind cats and deaf cats, as well as cats who are simply of an advanced age and need extra attention.

Do you offer overnight stays or cat boarding?

I only offer cat sitting services in the cat's own home, I'm afraid, and apart from exceptional circumstances (giving birth to kittens or extreme medical vulnerability spring to mind) I am unable to offer overnight stays.

What should I do to prepare for your cat sitting services?

To ensure the best care for your cat while you’re away, please prepare the following:
1. Provide any special dietary needs or feeding instructions, including how much and when to feed.
2. Ensure your cat has a safe and comfortable space, with access to clean water and their favourite toys.
3. Write down any specific routines or habits your cat has, such as litter box usage and playtime preferences.
4. Leave contact information for your veterinarian, in case of emergencies.
5. Ensure that your home is secure, and indicate any areas where your cat is not allowed ( I won't open doors which are left shut).

Following these steps will help me provide the best care for your feline friend!

Do you travel outside helensburgh?

I'm happy to visit cats who live further away, but I will need to add a boundary charge to cover travel time and fuel costs. At very busy times, I may not be able to commit to distant visits, but please check with me as I will always do my best to help.

Do you look after other animals?

My speciality is cats, as I bond well with them and have lots of experience to draw on in understanding their behavioural quirks and getting them to trust me. However, I'm happy to care for other household animals provided that we discuss it in advance and their needs are made clear - I often look after indoor rabbits, and have some experience with small animals (mice, rats, guinea pigs and hamsters) as well as reptiles (tortoises, snakes and geckos).

How will you Gain access to my cat while I'm away?

During our Meet and Greet visit, we will make arrangements for me to pick up a key close to the time of the booking, which will be labelled with your cat's name (to avoid any security issues with addresses and keys) and I will return it to you once I know that you are safely home. Alternatively, I am happy to keep hold of your key if you would like me to, so that I can take bookings at short notice and in emergencies - if you choose that option, your key will be kept securely in a lock box in my home.
